The living dictionary of the Archive & Anvil. This is our official lexicon, defining the core concepts of our craft.

Archive & Anvil

Our core discipline. The "Archive" is the act of unearthin—our practice of digital archaeology and stewardship. The "Anvil" is the act of forging—our forward-facing craft of building new landmarks and consulting with founders.

Digital Monument

An act of cultural preservation. A focused, interactive experience built to preserve a single digital artifact (e.g., 13375p34k.com). Its purpose is to commemorate and educate, not to sell. A landmark is the ground; a monument is what we build on it.

Landmark

A name with cultural gravity. It is a destination, not just an address. A landmark has a soul, a verifiable story (see Narrative Provenance), and becomes the anchor for a brand's entire identity.

Digital Archaeologist

Our core ethos. A commitment to unearthing, not inventing. A Digital Archaeologist uses expert intuition, linguistic research, and cultural analysis to discover names with authentic, pre-existing stories.

Narrative Provenance

The verifiable history of a name. This is established by researching its etymology (linguistic roots) and its cultural history (use in myths, literature, and art). It is the source of a landmark's integrity.
